Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. After relocating to Oxfordshire when she was five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. At the age of six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes for acting, singing and dancing. At the age of 10, she had already taken part in a variety of Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie adaptation from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for very first time back in the year 1999. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been selected for the roles. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The highest-grossing movie of 2001, the film set records for its debut day opening and its opening weekend earnings. The film was praised by critics and the performance of three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of a Film.
